“I have just received our wedding photos and I could not wait to write a review. Josie was recommended to us and I am so happy she was. For our fist meeting Josie made us feel at ease and has such a lovely personality that you feel like she is a friend. On the day from the moment she turned up to the moment she left she was taking photos but I could not tell she was there. Everyone commented on how nice she was. Our photos our stunning and exactly what we wanted. Thank you so much for giving us such wonderful memories from our special day.”
Nicola left me this lovely review on my Facebook page at the beginning of July, after I photographed her wedding in June (can you tell it’s been a busy summer for me?! A mere 4 months late on my blog posts..!). I’m really happy with their images, and their laid back attitude made for one happy wedding photographer on the day too!
On the day, I met Nicola at her mum’s house, getting ready with her bridesmaids. I love taking pre-ceremony shots in bustling settings like this, it’s always a challenge for a creative wedding photographer but often results in interesting shots which tell a story.
Next I whizzed off to Brooksby Hall to capture some shots of Joe and the lads, Joe looking suitably nervous, before Nicola’s arrival. Brooksby Hall, situated within beautiful grounds near Melton Mowbray, is always a great location to shoot. The staff are friendly and helpful, with wedding coordinator Emma making things run smoothly and with a smile!
After the ceremony we took some modern group shots, keeping the feel fun and relaxed, and then took a short walk with Nicola & Joe around the grounds, shooting with a long lens and leaving the couple to chat. I find this the least intimidating and invasive approach when taking photographs, minimizing any awkwardness and shyness people may have about having their picture taking by a wedding photographer.
