Wedding Photography in Leicestershire – The Woodlands at Hothorpe Hall. Dani and Michael.

Dani and Michael’s wedding took place at a fairly new venue in Leicestershire – The Woodlands at Hothorpe Hall. This new Leicestershire venue is really lovely, a real treat for all wedding photographers in Leicestershire, and I’ve hugely enjoyed working at both weddings I have had the pleasure of capturing here so far. Dani and Michael’s day was an informal, fun and happy occasion, taking place in the summer sunshine. I arrived at The Woodlands shortly before the ceremony took place, capturing the slightly nervous moments before Dani arrived, whereby the guests and Michael were waiting in the ceremony room, accompanied by the beautiful sounds of a harpist floating gently around the light and airy room. Dani, and her bridesmaids, arrived looked utterly stunning, and the ceremony started.
After the ceremony there was plenty of time for the newly weds and their guests to mingle around the grounds. We took some informal group photographs and then went for a stroll in to the wooded area, hence the venues name, to capture some images of the couple alone. At most weddings I find that these 15 minutes away from the rest of the wedding party is really useful, as it’s often the first time the newly married couple have the chance to speak to each other properly! We captured some gorgeous images of Dani and Michael just while they were chatting away. Soon it was time to venture back inside for the wedding breakfast and speeches. The staff at The Woodlands do an amazing job of making their space look elegant and beautiful, and the rooms are always light, airy and lovely, in part due to the huge windows. As you can imagine, a perfect environment for a wedding photographer..! The couple had placed little envelopes of seeds, printed ‘Let Love Grow’ on them, which I thought was a lovely touch. Dani was kind enough to send me a really nice thank you card with a packet of these lovely seeds in them, which are now growing in my garden (how I love my amazing clients, and my job!). The wedding breakfast was followed by speeches, including one from Michael’s two best men (who I found sipping from matching hip flasks before hand for dutch courage and duly captured the evidence..!), and another from Dani’s family, who announced that they had bought the couple a dream holiday as a wedding present! Really special, and super emotional. For me, the rest of the day was spent capturing lots of candid images of everyone enjoying themselves, finishing with the couple cutting the cake! A lovely day –  thanks for having me guys!
